Japanese Curry Rice (Home Style)

Japanese curry rice「カレー(カレーライス)」 is one of the most popular home-style dishes in Japan and is commonly eaten for dinner.

Japanese curry is milder and thicker than many other curries and is enjoyed by people of all ages.

Ingredients

  • Curry roux
  • Onion
  • Potato
  • Carrot
  • Meat (chicken, pork, or beef)
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Cut all ingredients into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Heat a pot and sauté the meat.
  3. Add vegetables and stir briefly.
  4. Add water and simmer until ingredients are soft.
  5. Turn off the heat and add curry roux.
  6. Simmer again until the curry thickens.
